Long time no blog
Friday 04th July 2008Oopsies. I forgot to update, 11 days. I was really hoping that I could throw a new layout together before the time came that I had to blog, and I finally got something together. It’s not something that I am pleased with, but it’s a change, and I think that I will try to get something else together soon. I know that by saying that it will put another new layout back 6 weeks, but I will try. I’m just not happy with anything that I come up with, no matter how long that I sit here for. At least I have a new computer chair, which is a lot more comfier that the old one.
I have been going to see the nurse for my B12 injections. I am having these as my body can’t absorb it, and it needs to be put into me by injection. On my previous blog I said that I had had one injection, and had one blood sample taken. Since then I have had three more injections, and one more lot of blood taken. The second time I went up the nurse was faffing about, and I didn’t know what was going on. Turned out that I had to have some blood taken, which I didn’t know about. That I don’t mind, but now I have a big bruise as they had to use the same vein. The other arm, the one that has had four B12 injections is feeling stiff to move, and I still have two more injections too. I’m not feeling any less tired though.
Forgetting things is something that I do regularly, as I am feeling so tired. The other day I was about to go to the library. I couldn’t find my ticket, but thought that it was in another day, or on the computer desk where I leave it to check my books online. I used my sisters card that day, and then the next day a letter came from the library with my card in it. I had left in at the library. How embarrassing. I felt like such an idiot.
I have been shopping for books again. I know that I shouldn’t, I should read what books I already have, but I wanted some new ones. Beside my bed the pile is about 14 books high, of books that I want to read soon. I’ve also started to read different genres. Firstly I am reading Anne Boleyn, which is a bit heavy to be reading all the time, plus feeling so tired I can’t concentrate. Then I am reading Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, by Marian Keyes. This is chick lit, but Marian Keyes always manages to add some thing more. I also started a book on Marilyn Monroe, that I put down weeks ago, but will finish at sometime. The last book that I read was a book on WAGs, that was surprisingly good.
Otherwise I haven’t been doing a lot. I have been playing Theme Hospital, which is frustrating, as I can’t get past the level that I am on. Ebony got a new bed, which Jake is very keen on. We didn’t get him one as we thought that he wouldn’t want one, but obvisously he does. He had a mole today! We have no idea where he got it from, but he had it in his mouth, and he was so proud. My mum had to catch him so that the mole could get away. And I went shopping for pet stuff, had to get a lot of it, but ended up forgetting water bottles for the bunnies, and bedding for the hamster. Then I went to another shop yesterday, and they had to stuff for hamsters, so I will have to wait until Tuesday. Fred now has little bits of paper on the floor instead of his usually paper which works like sawdust, not that he minds.
I also went to the doctors only for the secretary not to have put my appointment down after telling me, so that they were seeing someone else. They made us wait about for a while, then we went to see my mums friend who is at the hospital.
Tomorrow is one year since my uncle died. Can you believe that, a whole year. Last year we were in Turkey, when we found out, and had to fly back the next evening. It still seems like a month ago. I still can’t believe that I lost such a great and important person. We bought flowers today, and we will put them onto his grave tomorrow. I miss him every minute of every day.

Still feeling sleepy?
Tuesday 24th June 2008I went for another blood test this yesterday. The doctor rang me at home last week to say that they didn’t know why vitamin B12 isn’t being absorbed by my body. You normally get B12 from your food, but some how I am not. This may be the reason that I always feel exhausted. I got my dad to come with me for the first injection, and another blood sample, as I was scared. We walked up there, a lovely walk there. My dad had flip flops on which annoyed me. “Why can’t you wear normal shoes when we are walking?”. He nearly tripped over twice, and was regretting wearing them when we walked back through the woods. The injection hurt. It wasn’t that bad, but it’s one of the most sore that I have have. The nurse said that it would sting and it did. The blood test sample was fine, those don’t hurt at all.
On Sunday my mum and I went into town. I wanted to buy some books but because it was the weekend my favourite second hand book shop was closed. We did go to another shop though, and I picked up a Lisa Jewell book that I wanted. I also wanted to pick up another copy of Glamour magazine as it comes with a free Benefit lip gloss this month. The lip gloss is £13 here in the UK which works out at $26, but is for sale in the US for only $16. I got a copy last week with ‘didn’t hear it from me’ and I really love it. It’s not sticky, but it looks glossy, and the colour looks nice on. So I went to 6 shops looking for it, but none had them. I also looked on my way to the doctors yesterday, but nothing. I did find a copy at the supermarket for my sister though, and maybe towards the end of the week they will have more in.
I watched the movie Kinky Boots last night. I really liked it. It’s about a shoe factory who aren’t selling classic mens shoes any more, so decide that they will sell womans styles to men. It’s based on a true story, which was featured in a documentary before the movie was made. I really liked this movie, it was fun, and emotional at the same time. You will like this if you liked Calendar Girls. Book wise I am reading a book on Anne Boleyn. I am on page 93 and not much on her yet, but it’s interesting anyway, if not a little confusing for someone who feels as tired as I do.
